Up coming events in Cambridge

With 2022 well underway, we have looked at some of the up coming events happening in and around Cambridge. Meaning you can make the most of this great city, even if you don’t have the opportunity to stay with us…

April’s Festivals:

April has kicked off in style with the Cambridge Festival which runs until the 10th April 2022.  The festival includes over 350 events and activities, presented across the Festival’s 4 themes: Society, Health, Environment and Discovery! Events are available to attend in person, on-line & on-demand, details can be found of all this years exciting content here

Towards the end of the Month (20th – 24th April) is the Cambridge Literary Spring Festival. The Festival hosts 45 events over 5 day period, showcasing authors including Will Young, Ed Balls and Cambridge Local Ali Smith in 4 key locations across the city, further details on who’s appearing here.

June’s Fairs :

Heading into the early Summer and June sees the return of Strawberry Fair and Midsummer Fair. Both held on Midsummer Common, Strawberry Fair has been running in Cambridge for over 40 years. Making it’s welcome return in 2022, a must visit if you find yourself in Cambridge on the 11th June 2022.

Midsummer Fair and Market is one of the oldest county fairs in England. Dating back to 1211, this year it will taking place between 22nd – 27th June. There will be rides and attractions for all ages.

Another stand out event in June is the Duxford Summer Air show, which takes place over the 18th & 19th June. It’s a jam packed day out at Duxford Imperial War Museum, which just happens to be Europe’s largest air museum. Showcasing aviation over the years, with entrance fee to the museum as well as the flying display all included in the ticket price. Be sure to book your tickets in advance, as they are not sold on the day.

July’s Shows:

Heading into July and there are plenty of things to see and experience here in Cambridge. Why not stay with the us here at Christ’s College*?. The ‘Big Weekend’ will be held on Parkers’ Piece. Between 1st – 3rd July be sure to head along to see with headline acts, food market and entertainment. There is something for all the family to enjoy.

If music is your thing then The 2022 Cambridge Summer Music Festival runs from the 15th – 31st July, the full programme will be released in May, keep up to date with the latest news here

Finally, Christ’s College is proud to be taking part in the National Open Gardening Scheme. This year Christ’s College opens its Gardens on Sunday 24th July. Come visit us & take a look around our beautiful grounds while having a cup of tea and a bit of cake.
