This policy explains how Christ’s College Hospitality uses cookies and similar technologies on christscollegehospitality.co.uk, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website puts on your device when you visit. Cookies let a site remember things between pages and visits — for example that you have accepted our cookie banner — and they can also be used to measure how a site is being used.
Your choices
When you first visit the site you are asked whether you accept cookies that are not strictly necessary. Nothing other than the essential cookies below is set unless you agree. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the cookie control panel on the site, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These are needed for the website to work and cannot be switched off.
- CookieControl — records your cookie preferences so you are not asked again on every page. Set by our consent tool, Civic Cookie Control. Typically stored for 90 days.
- PHPSESSID — a session cookie used by the web server to keep your visit working correctly. Deleted when you close your browser.
- wordpress_*, wordpress_logged_in_* — set only if you log in to the website as an administrator. They are not set for ordinary visitors.
Analytics — set only with your consent
- _ga and _ga_<container id> — Google Analytics 4, which we use to understand how many people visit the site, which pages they use and how they found us, so that we can improve it. Typically stored for up to 2 years. Google’s privacy information is at policies.google.com/privacy and you can opt out across all sites using Google’s browser add-on.
Content from other websites
Some pages include content hosted by other organisations — for example guest reviews, social media links and embedded maps or videos. If you view that content, the provider may set its own cookies. We do not control those cookies; please see the relevant provider’s own cookie notice for details.
Newsletter sign-up
If you subscribe to our newsletter, your details are stored in our own website database rather than in a cookie. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send you.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that if you block essential cookies, parts of this website may not work properly. General guidance on managing cookies is available at aboutcookies.org.
