Unique place to stay

September 12, 2025

We only stayed one night. It was a unique place to stay. The room was clean, warm and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The Staff friendly and helpful.

The grounds were stunning. There was a great selection at breakfast all served in a buffet. The refectory style dining was a bit of a shock. But all in all a good experience.

The only thing I would suggest is some sort of leaflet on the background to the college. The information available on the Internet is aimed [quite rightly] at prospective students. The map was good but we wanted more information on the grouns

One Night Stay at Christ's

September 12, 2025

An enjoyable and interesting experience on the whole but I wouldn’t hurry back. The single bed in my twin bedded room was too small and the pillow hard and uncomfortable. Also other than one bedside light, the room lighting was horribly bright and glaring. Breakfast was poor and definitely not worth £15. Revolting coffee and shop orange juice. Can’t you afford an Espresso Machine? The porters though couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful and the barman in the Buttery likewise.

What. A. Place.

You enter Christ’s College through the main entrance and immediately you get the sense you traveled back in time. The impressive first Court is absolutely stunning. Give yourself some time to pick your jaw from the floor because there’s more. Absolutely wonderful experience, room was basic but always inviting to return to, couldn’t recommend this more!

Your Questions..

There is no parking on-site at Christ’s College. We recommend guests use public transport to visit us There are several Park and Ride sites located outside the city centre with frequent buses into Cambridge. If you are travelling by car we recommend that visitors use these facilities whenever possible. You can leave the car at the Park and Ride sites overnight but there is a charge. If you do decide to venture in and park in town the closest car park to Christ’s is the Grand Arcade or the Grafton Centre, however, do be aware that parking in Cambridge city centre car parks can be difficult (these city centre car parks are often full) and is also expensive. Cambridge city centre is often very congested indeed, particularly around rush hours and school run times (around 3.30 pm), when you tend to get stuck in a long queue. ). Be careful driving centrally as there are some bus gates, which will result in a fine if you go through them! Christ’s main gate is on St Andrew’s Street. Please see the directions to Christ’s College page for further information on public transport options
Please don’t smoke inside. Smoking is not allowed in bedrooms or any of the buildings in Christ’s. If you smoke, please be aware that the only area of College where this is allowed is the Darwin Portico behind Third Court. This has some shelter and is marked on the College map.
Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for individual bookings. If you have any questions, please contact our Reservations Office. The office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:30. Email: reservations@christs.cam.ac.uk or call +44 01223 334926
