Room is old fashioned, especially the bathroom, but totally it’s nice to stay and reasonable. Not only here, but taste of coffee was terrible. Tea was good.

21 September 2026We were given a warm and efficient welcome to the college at the Lodge. Our room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable and it was lovely to walk through the courtyards to it. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. The location of the college is ideal. We will definitely use Christ’s College again.

21 September 2026Beautiful and historical place to stay available when the students are on holiday. Couldn’t get more central. Very well organised and a nice welcome when you get there. We stayed in a new block which had a large twin bedded room with en-suite. Our only criticism was that the bathroom could have been a little cleaner – taps and around the bath. Apart from that it was perfect. A nice breakfast was included and staff were all very helpful. Highly recommended.

The College-city.
17 September 2026Nice to walk the Streets of Cambridge.
Our room no 405 was out to the King Street and a Bar on the other side. That gave a lot of noise from there and ofcourse the trafic also.
Good we were tired after the day-walk so we could at least have a sleep.
Next time it so uls be nice to have a room into the court.
RAF Duxford visit Sept 26
16 September 2026The Porter’s House staff were welcoming, helpful and very organized. I particularly liked the map of the college grounds. The buildings are beautiful and historic with a fabulously decorated entrance archway. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I will book here again when visiting Cambridge.

Fantastic accommodation for a group trip
16 September 2026I was in England for a trip to Duxford Air Show with friends from Ireland and the US and I booked us rooms at Christ’s College. There were five of us and we were all seriously impressed with the accommodation. The porters in the Lodge were really friendly and helpful; we got a great welcome when we arrived and they helped me print out a car pass for the air show. The rooms were great, with good facilities, and breakfast was excellent. The College was in a really convenient location for us as well. There was parking nearby but it was pricey for overnight.
Almost like I’m a student again
14 September 2026Absolutely magical stay – the room was comfy, breakfast really delicious and the overall vibe made the stay really fantastic. The only downside for me is that rooms could use a bit of renovation – purely so they feel cleaner, as right now the amount of slightly damaged/porous/carpeted surfaces was a bit suspicious for me as theyre harder to deep clean. Then again I would stay again without hestitation and will recommend it to anyone going to Cambridge

Single night’s stay
12 September 2026Christ’s College is a beautiful retreat in central Cambridge. We were looking for somewhere to stay at a reasonable price after a late film at the Everyman Cinema in the Grand Arcade. This was perfect. With beautiful grounds to explore and a great breakfast the next morning, it was a really nice experience. The room was simple but perfectly adequate. I was surprised to find that a kettle and tea/coffee were provided in the en suite room. The staff were lovely and everything was clean and in good working order.

9 September 2026The College is a beautiful and tranquil place to stay. The age and history of the buildings add to the atmosphere and it makes for a unique experience. It is so much better than staying in a generic hotel. Location is great, handy for city centre but also easily walkable to the bus and train stations. The room was comfortable, clean and had a good shower. There were tea and coffee facilities which were appreciated and I could charge my electrical devices. Plenty of storage options for clothes etc.

6 September 2026I loved my two days in Cambridge. I used to live here,But that was when I was very young, but I do remember it. I loved the college that I stayed in Christ College. The history is incredible. The atmosphere of the feeling you get from all the hundreds of years of learning and producing iconic alumni. The room was fine. It was small, but I knew that would be the case I’m tall so I had to put up with a bit of a tight bed, but it was fine all in all .The Porters were very nice and knowledgeable. Unfortunately breaking was not worth it , paid with the assurance there were gluten free options but extremely limited and staff had poor knowledge of a serious allergy. Meant I paid £15 for egg and bacon but La RT we felt unwell so was obviously some cross contamination. A shame because the staff were pleasant but clearly not trained.

No TV but that made a nice break – there was too much to do and see anyway. Staff were absolutely lovely – very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Very convenient and interesting location
4 September 2026It was lovely to stay in the centre of Cambridge and re visit some of my old haunts from my days here as a student. The rooms were basic but comfortable. We found parking up by Shire Hall about 20 mins away which was a godsend as parking in Cambridge is hard to find these days. We were here primarily to visit family who live nearby and it was an ideal location for that. All in all a pleasant stay.

2 September 2026I am only a few days into my stay at Christ’s college but I must commend the excellent hospitality and kind, friendly staff here. All the porters Lodge, hospitality team and accommodation managers are fantastic, going above and beyond for both casual questions at the lodge and accommodation enquiries via email. I am staying for business and the room is very quiet, with a big desk and facilities. I would definitely reccomend a stay here in future, and the breakfast is also very good, lots of great options!

25 August 2026We loved walking around the grounds and soaking up the history of the place and watching the squirrels running up and down the many trees. Great location and a good breakfast. Staff were lovely. Room was basic but comfortable, the only thing I would say is that our room could have done with some net curtains or vertical blinds, as we were very overlooked by the road and buildings and had to close the curtains while getting ready for the day.

It’s a beautiful setting, but I was in the modern building, and due to the design of the room there was no security if you wanted the window open – it opened onto a type of terrace that people could climb along! There was a small fan though. The tiny bathroom was very clean but there should be a handle as there was a 9″ step up in/out of it.

A taste of life in a Cambridge College
18 August 2026Christ’s is well situated in the heart of Cambridge and the student room we stayed in was modern and clean with an ensuite shower/bathroom. We stayed for breakfast in the Upper Hall and it was good, ranging from full cooked breakfast to continental-style pastries and fruit. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

An interesting stay
17 August 2026I stayed with my friend for 3 nights, we’re 76 and 77 so to be among young people at breakfast was a real treat. My room was large with a double bed and ensuite, 2 armchairs and a massive wardrobe (Only 4 coat hangers though!). It was during the last heatwave and I was very glad that a fan was provided. The gardens and the beautiful older buildings made our stay a delight and especially as we were in the middle of the town. `All the staff were lovely and helpful, especially the porters. The breakfast was delicious too. One small downside was the noise from the restaurant across the road from my window, as it was hot people sat outside until late, but what can you expect if you are in the middle of town!

17 August 2026I stayed for four nights in an ensuite room in a modern block within Christ’s College. The room had a double bed and was very, very spacious. There was daily housekeeping. The college is right in the centre of Cambridge which was extremely convenient. It was an absolute treat walking through each of the college’s beautiful, historic courtyards every day to reach the block I was staying in. I 100% would stay again. Lovely experience.

17 August 2026So lovely to be right in the centre of Cambridge & in such an historical setting. The rooms are quite basic but with very comfortable beds & good linens, and are very good value. The bedders and Porters are very friendly & helpful. The rooms overlooking the road behind the college can be a bit noisy late at night, but those facing into the college are quiet all the time.

Most important, all front-line staff very helpful. It’s not their fault the wifi connectivity for guests was at best patchy – not all guests will need it but in 2026 in the centre of Cambridge, for some it will be essential and assumedly available. It was an unwelcome surprise when it simply wasn’t working.

13 August 2026I stayed in the modern block which was very comfortable and light- grateful for the fan as the weather was so hot. The room had everything I needed.
Housekeeping was somewhat variable and could have been improved on some days (eg tea and milk not topped up, used crockery not changed) but was good on ot her days.
Overall I would recommend as an excellent base and good value for money.

7 August 2026The room was clean with adequate space including desk chair and armchair. Also the grounds and surrounding environment were very quiet at sleeping times. The garden area and Cloisters were green and tranquil. Eat as much as you can Breakfast was exceptional. The Buttery Bar was comfortable with very reasonably priced Drinks and excellent service . Also all the Staff on the Campus went above and beyond providing excellent service.

Perfect for a one night stay
5 August 2026I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom and no breakfast, and think it is a great option for a single night stay. The staff were friendly, this made the checking-in and -out processes super easy. The room and bathroom were clean and the college grounds as a whole are gorgeous. Whilst not super cheap, it was much more affordable than other options in the area, and is extremely central. I would recommend to anyone who is staying in Cambridge for one or two nights, and is simply needing somewhere to stay.

For future programmes, I recommend changing the bed linens twice a week rather than once and installing a small air-conditioning unit to improve comfort, particularly during warmer weather.

15 July 2026We stayed a Christ’s College for a university reunion, it is located in the centre of Cambridge. If you are after 5 star accommodation, this isn’t for you. But it has everything you need, great location, tea / coffee making facilities and a comfortable bed. The only issue was we couldn’ ;t get any hot water in the morning. (made it feel like university life). Breakfast on site was really good. Would stop again

It was a pleasure to walk through the college grounds to our room. Breakfasts were of a high standard, and offered a good variety of choices. We would have had dinner at the college but wasn’t aware that we had to book in advance.
Not to be missed if you have the opportunity
12 April 2026A brilliant and unique place to stay in Cambridge; an oasis in the heart of the city. Beautiful grounds and surroundings and very friendly staff. If room facing south/south-west, it can get quite hot on a sunny day and the windows of the Lasdun building open in a funky way. Also, the en -suite is a tad small and with a step access but overall, it was super clean and comfy and extra special with the ancient college vibe. Highly recommended.

The room was large and comfortable and had all we needed – the location was great right in the middle of all the areas we wanted to visit.

To sleep amongst all the history of the college was amazing.
Beautiful grounds.

Didn’t have time to visit the Buttery Bar so a good excuse to make another visit! Thank you.
Fun novelty experience
2 April 2026Such an fun experience! The staff was very friendly, especially the porters. Amazing location and surroundings and as I quickly learned, many colleges are closed to the public/require tickets (understandable!), so it’s great to get the opportunity to walk around the different courts.
The room was clean, the little shared kitchen looked c lean and functional. Breakfast was tasty (not gourmet but definitely better than average hotel buffet breakfast). We stayed on a Sunday night but I can imagine that the pub right across on King Street gets very loud on Fridays and Saturdays, and the windows aren’t soundproof at all. The bed was uncomfortable. Still, I would gladly come back another time to explore more of Cambridge and the surroundings!

Lovely except for poor soundproofing in our room
1 April 2026Large modern room on first floor of building 4 with ensuite, great location, friendly porters, beautiful old buildings and gardens around and a nice breakfast. Sadly the stay was spoiled by getting very little sleep because of extremely poor soundproofing. You expect to hear loud partying, but I could hear every car go past and every normal conversation outside, which could easily be fixed by some modern soundproofing. I feel sorry for any student assigned that room longterm.
I would highly recommend a stay if you can get a room in a different block or away from the street.
Lovely porters, room a bit loud
1 April 2026I had a shared bathroom room and it backed straight onto King Street so I was serenaded by the song of the number 1 and number 3 bus going past, with guest appearances from drunk yelling people. The room itself was surprisingly nice and warm which is hard to get in Cambridge. The shared bathroom (next to room 4.02) was a bit sad – the bath needed the drain cleaning out, the shower curtain was too long and dragged across the bottom of the bath to try and trip me (so I didn’t even try to shower, just had a shallow bath). The toilet roll holder was bizarrely sticking out right where you put your arm when you sit on the toilet so you have to sort of exist around it like a rude neighbour on a plane.
The porters were absolutely lovely and helped me out when I didn’t have my phone charger at 11pm. The breakfast was amazing – they even had vegan yoghurt! Nobody has vegan yoghurt! It made me feel so valued!

Modernish block accomodations in a Historical institution
24 December 2025Central situation. Clean and comfortable accomodations. Twin room with ensuite bathroom. Lacking modern wants like TV or phone charging ports. No lifts, A metal staircase with a slippy last step on the bottom rung off Block 4. We had a disturbed sleep with heating to high then to low. No temperature control in the room . Tea and Coffee supplied, Kettle cord very short. Room rate very reasonable. Check in after 2.00pm. Checkout 10.00am. On site eatery for breakfast if you are an early riser 7.30 am to 9.30am. Very helpful Porters. On the whole we enjoyed the experience.

It had been on my bucket list for a while
17 December 2025When we arrived, this originally late medieval college was hiding its charms behind a large amount of modern day scaffolding and plastic sheeting. Averting our eyes as we passed through this, the gardens and beautiful college buildings of the first three courts were impressive, passing the delightful statue to probably the college’s most prestigious student , though we could only nod at where we were told he roomed. We had expected to be accommodated in the modern fourth court right at the back, but appreciated its warmth and en-suite with everything we needed. It would have helped to have WiFi details in the the room which would have avoided having all my data gobbled up. The porters were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the stay. Thank you, Christ’s College, for having us.
Excellent location and value for money
17 December 2025The room was a basic student room – it was just like going back to my student days, which I enjoyed! It was clean and comfortable, and not very expensive. The college is extremely beautiful, and feels much nicer than staying in a characterless hotel. The porters were super-friendly: courteous and helpful, including useful recommendations for eating, drinking, etc. I’d definitely stay there again if the option were available.
My only less positive point: 10am is early for check-out. I would have appreciated an extra hour or so.

Our room was a good size and the beds are very comfortable.
Unfortunately our bathroom was in very poor shape there was a very musty smell and the toilet was leaking. Once we had used the shower in the morning the carpe t by the bathroom door was soaking wet – very unpleasant. If we had had the time when we checked in we would have complained.

Breakfast in the Upper Hall was excellent. This is my third such overnight stay in a Cambridge College, which I have always very much enjoyed, each a little different of course. Can I suggest a bottle of water in the room, which would be great.

14 September 2025I stayed in another college the night before, and I have a few suggestions for the future regarding the breakfast (everything else was alright).
The tables in the upper hall are sticky. I could not find ketchup. Eating oats/ out of deeper bowls (not soup dish) woild be nicer. The mushrooms were squashy, the fried e gg dry. Just wheel a serving cart in the hall and the guests will put their dish onto it and the staff will have more time to care about the food.

12 September 2025We only stayed one night. It was a unique place to stay. The room was clean, warm and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The Staff friendly and helpful.
The grounds were stunning. There was a great selection at breakfast all served in a buffet. The refectory style dining was a bit of a shock. But al l in all a good experience.
The only thing I would suggest is some sort of leaflet on the background to the college. The information available on the Internet is aimed [quite rightly] at prospective students. The map was good but we wanted more information on the grouns
One Night Stay at Christ's
12 September 2025An enjoyable and interesting experience on the whole but I wouldn’t hurry back. The single bed in my twin bedded room was too small and the pillow hard and uncomfortable. Also other than one bedside light, the room lighting was horribly bright and glaring. Breakfast was poor and definitely not worth £15. Revolting coffee and shop orange juice. Can’t you afford an Espresso Machine? The porters though couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful and the barman in the Buttery likewise.

9 September 2025You enter Christ’s College through the main entrance and immediately you get the sense you traveled back in time. The impressive first Court is absolutely stunning. Give yourself some time to pick your jaw from the floor because there’s more. Absolutely wonderful experience, room was basic but always inviting to return to, couldn’t recommend this more!

Friendly staff, nice breakfast, but room felt a bit exposed
1 September 2025Overall, a good stay! That said, a couple of things weren’t ideal. There was scaffolding right outside my bedroom window with workers around, which was a bit disappointing. In the evenings, I felt a little uneasy since my room was the farthest from the gate and not many people were around. A few times, the main door to the block wasn’t locked, so technically, anyone could have walked in. The room also got quite hot, and I couldn’t sleep with the window open as it opened onto a flat roof with scaffolding, making it easy to climb up.
On the bright side, the room was clean and tidy, breakfast was great, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

31 August 2025Student accommodation, so just what I was looking for to spend the night! Good facilities and a lovely, spacious, clean room. Felt like a hotel and good value for money. Some rooms have fans and some do not however, so worth bearing in mind if you get warm easily.

27 August 2025The college is beautiful – what a place to be housed as an undergrad! Second Court room was clean, somewhat sparse/basic, and truly oversized loo/shower room, perfectly adequate for a short stay, and comfortable bed. Glad we had a garden view. There was noise from the adjoining street – but only really audible in the bathroom. Staff were most kind and accommodating, and the Buttery Bar pleasant and welcoming. Central location ideal for our explorations on foot. Enjoyed our visit and would stay again.

22 August 2025A bijou room, with everything one needed. Very clean, with a huge openable window, quiet with a view of the rooftops. The bathroom was tiny, but it all worked, and was an experience. An excellent stay in the centre of Cambridge for a very reasonable price.
One thing, though, the WiFi sign in is convoluted a nd slightly ridiculous in this day and age!
Very comfortable stay
21 August 2025Our 3rd visit here. The other 2 were in the 2nd court whereas this one was in the 4th. So no lovely view over the court but very comfortable nevertheless. Once again we enjoyed sitting in the Fellows garden and were entertained by a young fox running across the lawn and in and out of the shrubbery!
The porters were very helpful and we enjoyed a good breakfast before we left. All in all another successful stay.

20 August 2025Lovely place to stay whilst briefly in Cambridge. The porters and dining staff were really helpful.
My room was enormous and far surpassed my expectations. Very good value with breakfast. The grounds were beautifully tended and a joy to linger in.
I did struggle with the temperature in my room which had huge skylights which I co uldn’t manage to open. It was a hot and airless August night! Not sure if something was broken in the mechanism or it was just me. Also I found getting onto the internet unnecessarily complicated. Again, it could have been me!

The room was a little tired and small and hot if the weather had been heatwave but it wasn’t . .The window had no lock but we we re able to shut it when workmen started outside just before 7. All in all an amazing trip down memory lane . Bit worried about the window a single person might have felt more unsafe.,maybe you could see to it. ?

The carpet was too dirty though and I was bitten by bed bugs on my leg the first night and and I’m not surprised. The bathroom needs more hanger and shelves around the inner spaces

7 August 2025I like the idea I am able to walk around the Christ´s College area. The accomodation was very basic but clean inside. I did not like the idea of my room being on the ground floor right next to the enry – not possible to leave the window open and not covered with blinds . The scaffoldings did not help either.

Christ’s College was a perfect central location yet felt like miles away from the hustle and bustle of town. the breakfast was amazing with something for everyone and all staff were really friendly and helpful. Comfortable room in a great location
3 August 2025The room was a pretty standard dorm room in layout, with a comfortable bed and two good pillows. The bathroom and shower were quite small. The location is quite central, but one benefits from the quiet setting on the college’s grounds. The room was accessed by taking a couple of flights of stairs — people with heavy luggage or physical impairments might find it hard to deal with the stairs. I suppose heavy luggage could be left in the luggage room near the Porters’ Lodge. Accommodation in Cambridge is quite expensive, so the room can be described as good value only compared to the overpriced rooms in hotels and some other colleges. The

There is tea and cookies and coffee and towels and shower gel, shampoo and soap.
The location is top and everyone was super friendly.
You get a lot of wear and tear, which is fine. The walls are full of left over stick ers and dents and the carpet got some stains.
I lived in student accommodations before, the shared bathroom did not bother me that much. It was not busy.
I still wished there would be at least a sink in the room though.
I could not connect to the WiFi, that was a bummer.

26 July 2025Great 2 night stay right in the centre of Cambridge. This was a return visit as I really enjoyed a previous stay. Room was clean and tidy, bed and pillows were very comfortable. I think it’s great value for money for such a central location in the heart of Cambridge. Porters were very friendly and helpful. I love the peace and tranquility as soon as you step through the gate. The gardens are beautiful and very well cared for and I loved the vegetable borders! Breakfast is good value for money with a good selection of items.

Good cheap alternative in Cambridge
19 July 2025Staying at a college in Cambridge is a nice way to feel part of the community and is also a cheaper alternative.
We were given a twin room to start with but these are roght next to a road and the windows aren’t very sound proof so we asked to move and were g iven two singles without any fuss.
All basic rooms but ensure.
The breakfast was just right and being GFree they provided extra bread rolls for me which was a nice touch.
Wishing to be young again and to be a student here
17 July 2025We loved the mixture of old and new buildings. Our room was in the new 4th court, with all the comfort we needed, spacious and clean. It was a pleasure to walk through the other courts enjoying the plants and flowers. We have discovered even the Fellows’ Garden with its interesting trees. The breakfast was rich and tasty. The only problem we had was how to connect to the wifi. Two of the porters could not help, only the third one could on the second evening of our stay.

2 August 2024Beautiful buildings. Room was basic but clean, comfy and huge! Only downside is that the bedroom window didn’t fully close (there’s a bus stop and a pub across the road which, whilst convenient, meant some noise during the night). Apart from that, we loved it and will be back again!
